Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public’s help finding the two suspects who robbed the Cham Tap bar at gunpoint early Thursday morning.

Officers were called at 12:19 a.m. to the Cham Tap, 2511 Durand Avenue, for a report of an armed robbery.
When police arrived, witnesses said two male suspects entered the bar and displayed handguns. They got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Witnesses provided the following descriptions of the suspects:
  • Suspect 1 is a black male
  • 5’7″ to 5’10”
  • 160-190 pounds
  • Wearing a mask and a dark, hooded sweatshirt
  • Suspect 2 is a male of undetermined race
  • Also 5’7″ to 5’10” and 160-190 pounds
  • Wearing a mask and a dark, hooded sweatshirt
There were no injuries, and this incident remains under investigation.
