Racine police say 59-year-old Robert Schooler, of Racine, is facing 1st degree intentional attempted homicide charges after he stabbed a woman multiple times Monday.

RPD Sgt. Jessie Metoyer in a press release said a woman was leaving her home at 9:30 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Grand Avenue when Schooler attacked her. A neighbor heard the woman cry for help and went to her aid.

Schooler fled the area on foot.

The woman reportedly told officers that Schooler had threatened to kill her. She was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s for treatment of her wounds.

Police took Schooler into custody around 11:30 p.m. Monday.

According to online jail records, Schooler could also face disorderly conduct and theft charges.
