It’s time again for exciting skateboard and BMX bike action at Racine’s North Beach, 100 Kewaunee St. Real Racine welcomes the Bikes, Boards ‘n Beach Series this Friday and Saturday, July 31-Aug. 1.

Bikes, Boards ‘n Beach, produced by AGA Nation, opens at 5 p.m. Friday with free open riding on mobile ramps in the North Beach parking lot near the Kids Cove Playground. The AGA Pro Show at 6:30 p.m. is dedicated to the late Glenn Salyers, an outstanding Midwest BMX rider who was tragically killed in a recent motorcycle accident. Pro riders will perform the free show in Glenn’s memory and accept memorials for his family via www.road2recovery.com

On Saturday, registration opens at 12 p.m. for BMX and skateboard competitions and the Bustin Boards Longboard push race that starts at 2 p.m. The $10 entry fee for riders will help support the Racine Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services’ skate park at Pershing Park. All events are free to spectators.

The epic “Battle for Wisconsin” championship finale (4:45 p.m. Saturday) wraps up a skateboard tour throughout state sanctioned by Finatik Apparel. Top prize is a trip to SPoT in Tampa, Fla.
