UPDATE 12:37 p.m.: Power has been restored to all by 22 customers.

RACINE, WI – Over 11,000 We Energies customers are without power, which started at about 8:10 a.m. Monday in Racine County.

Areas affected include Sturtevant, portions of Racine, Mount Pleasant, Racine, Caledonia, Union Grove, and Norway. The cause of those outages has not yet been determined, according to We Energies power outage map.

A patient at Ascension-All Saints Hospital told Racine County Eye that the power went out at about 8:20 a.m. there and that the back-up generators are keeping medical equipment operating.

Law enforcement officials are reporting numerous traffic signals being out.

To make matters worse, the National Weather Service has also issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of east-central, south-central, and southeast Wisconsin.

“A few thunderstorms will be possible this morning across southwestern and south-central Wisconsin,” according to the National Weather Service. “There will then be a low chance for very isolated thunderstorms later today into tonight across the entire outlook area. If these storms form, a few could be strong.

We’ll add more information as we receive it.
