Hundreds of residents on the south side of eastern Racine County are without power Sunday morning after overnight storms pummeled the area.

Thunderstorms arrived after midnight and lasted for a few hours, dumping a bunch of rain and blowing over garbage cans that weren’t secured.

The We Energies outage map indicates at least two outages – one in the area of Elmwood Park and one in Mount Pleasant – affecting more than 1,200 customers; almost 700 in Racine, just under 400 in Mount Pleasant, and almost 200 in Elmwood Park.

We will update this story as details become available.
