No one was injured in a fire that happened at 8:03 p.m. Sunday at a residence at 1842 13th St.

The cause of the fire — which started in the basement — is still under investigation, according to a press release by the Racine Fire Department.

William Actkins, the owner of the house, reported seeing smoke throughout the house. He was able to escape the home. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were able to attack the fire quickly.

The damage is estimated at $2,000.

After the fire was extinguished, the home was turned over to Actkins.
