UPDATE: A 20-year-old man suspected of leaving the scene of a car crash was arrested by investigators with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department on Monday.
Ryan A. Holterman, of Raymond, was arrested for felony hit and run accident causing injury, misdemeanor causing bodily harm by reckless driving, and failure to report an accident.
After developing leads, law enforcement officials found Holterman’s car hidden at a residence in the Town of Yorkville not too far from the scene of the crash. Following the arrest, he was taken to the Racine County Jail. Official charges have not been issues by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.
ORIGINAL STORY: Two brothers from Milwaukee suffered non-life threatening injuries in a hit and run crash that happened at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 94 at Highway 11.
Investigators with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department are searching for a suspect in the hit-and-run car crash after the driver left the scene, according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.
The car that was struck was found in a ditch along I-94 near the East Frontage Road. Rescue workers took the brothers by ambulance to Ascension – All Saints Hospital.
The brothers had been traveling northbound on I-94 when they started to have car trouble and pulled off to the side of the road to fix the issue. With their hazard lights on, a second car struck the vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene and investigators have not been able to find it.
The second vehicle is described a dark-colored Pontiac, possibly a Grand Prix or Grand Am. It has significant front-end damage and a missing wheel on the passenger side.
