Veterans will soon have a much easier time verifying their status to qualify for benefits.
Service men and women can request that “Veteran” be printed in red on their state issued ID as long as they are registered with the state as a veteran.
Gov. Scott Walker made the announcement last week, according to a story in The Journal Times.
Once a veteran’s status has been verified, they can go to their nearest DMV office to get their new ID or driver’s license. Regular fees do apply.
