SC Johnson gave $15,000 to the Racine Unified School District for the Racine-Kenosha English Festival, which will be held on March 28.

The grant will pay for substitute teachers, busing, visiting author expenses, materials for workshops and prizes.

“This grant from SC Johnson will support the mission of the Racine-Kenosha English Festival in encouraging our middle school students to appreciate the joys of reading and writing,” said RUSD Coordinator of Gifted and Talented Cindi Larsen. “With the budget demands faced by schools, the grant will provide funding for the author visit, required novels, transportation and other needed areas. The Racine- Kenosha English Festival is extremely appreciative of this grant.”
