945e1d850dde0cf7bc060571a60d3f7eHeroin use in eastern Racine County, and in Wisconsin, has been on the rise, but several bills introduced into the state Legislature aim to fight the problem..

Another big concern the bills are attempting to confront is opiate-based prescription medication abuse.

One proposal would mandate that anyone picking up opiate prescriptions show their identification when they pick-up the medicine.

Other proposals would give “limited immunity” to people reporting overdoses and allow first responders and paramedics to give Narcan, which reverses the effects of a heroin overdose.

What do you think about these proposals?
