The man found deceased this morning has been identified, Caledonia police Lt. Brian Wall confirmed.
Thomas Dretzka, 53, lived in the Caddy Vista neighborhood. His body was discovered Saturday morning around 10:15 a.m. in a wooded area near Caddy Vista Lane and David, according to Racine Uncovered and scanner reports.
Caledonia Police, Caledonia Fire rescue personnel, and the Racine County Medical Examiner were called to the scene.
Dretzka’s body has been transported to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy, but early reports indicate he suffered a major blunt force trauma to the head.
Wall said the Dretzka was last seen Friday night when he went out snowmobiling, but his family had not reported him missing.
Officials from the state Department of Natural Resources were also called to the scene because snowmobile-related deaths are the DNR’s jurisdiction.
Racine County Eye will continue to update this story as details become available.
