Caledonia Police logoAlcohol and speed were believed to have been factors in a snowmobile crash that killed Thomas Dretzka, 53, of Caledonia, according to a story on the Journal Sentinel website.

Dretzka was found dead in a wooded area near Caddy Vista Lane and David Lane, said Lt. Brian Wall of the Caledonia Police Department.

Dretzka lived in the Caddy Vista neighborhood. Neighbors who knew him, said he was “the neighborhood greeter” and waved at everyone in the neighborhood.

His body has been transported to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy, but early reports indicate he suffered a major blunt force trauma to the head. Wall said the Dretzka was last seen Friday night when he went out snowmobiling, but his family had not reported him missing.
