Democratic state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, seen here in a visit to Mount Pleasant in 2012, is mulling a run for governor.

State Sen. Kathleen Vinehout will not run for governor in 2014.

She is expected to make her formal announcement Friday, according to a story at jsonline.com.

Vinehout, a Democrat from Alma, was injured in a car accident last month on I-94 during a snow storm and needed surgery to fully correct her broken arm.

Without another Democrat in the race, Mary Burke – a former Trek executive from the Madison area – will not face a primary to determine who will go up against Gov. Scott Walker’s re-election run.
