Crime Stoppers of Racine County

 

Racine police are asking for the public’s help finding two young men who robbed two women at gunpoint in front of a local restaurant.

RPD officers say they were called Jan. 15 for an armed robbery in front of La Tapatia, 1951 Mead Street. When police arrived, they say two women said they were getting in their car when two males approached them.

Both suspects were armed with handguns they pointed at the victims. The men yelled at the women to give up their purses, and after the victims complied, the suspects fled the scene northbound on foot. The victims were not injured.

Witness described the suspects for police:

Suspect #1:

  • Black male
  • 17-20 years old
  • 5’8-5’10 tall, described as being “skinny”
  • Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black winter stocking hat.
  • Wielding a black and silver handgun

Suspect #2:

  • Black male
  • 17-20 years old
  • 5’8-5’10 tall with a medium build
  • Wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up over his head, and a black face mask.
  • Wielding a silver handgun
