A Muskego man was charged with a felony for leaving the scene of a crash he was involved in that left a woman injured, according to the criminal complaint.

Matthew Dentice, 21, was charged with a hit and run-injury by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office on Thursday. If convicted, Dentice faces up to nine months in jail and/or fined up to $10,000.

According to the criminal complaint, officers with the Racine Police Department responded to a hit and run crash involving injuries at 11:37 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the intersection of Northwestern Avenue and Rapids Drive. The driver of the other car told police that her car was rear-ended by the car and she was in pain.

Dentice allegedly stopped, asked if she was OK. The woman told Dentice she didn’t know if she was OK. But then she heard another person say, “She is fine, come on, Let’s go.”

Dentice left the scene. Officers with the Caledonia Police Department apprehended Dentice on Green Bay Road at Cranberry Lane in Caledonia.

The woman was taken to the hospital.
