Racine police say a 15-year-old boy led them to a sophisticated grow operation at his home. Now, four adults face serious drug charges.
Nancy Ann Ezell, 58; Rebecca A. Teschler, 35; Charity A. Willenburg, 39; and Brian M. Wilson, 36, all of Racine, are facing multiple counts of second degree recklessly endangering safety, maintain drug trafficking place, manufacture/deliver THC, and possession with intent to deliver, a story on Racine Uncovered reads..
According to Wilson’s criminal complaint, Racine police were called by a 15-year-old boy who said he would rather find shelter at SafeHaven than go home. The boy told officers there was heavy drug use at home and that he was concerned about his younger siblings staying there.
Officers say when they went to the house in the 2800 block of Donna Avenue to conduct a welfare check on the boy’s younger siblings, they discovered a sophisticated grow operation in the basement. Amongst the marijuana plants were three beds where the children slept.
Bedrooms held drug paraphernalia, a safe containing a fully loaded gun, and over four pounds of dried marijuana with a street value of about $6,000 per pound, the complaint reads. Wilson admitted that everything was his, including the gun, but once he was advised of his rights, he requested a lawyer.
All four adults remain in the Racine County Jail as of Monday night. Wilson and Ezell were assigned $5,000 cash bonds. Teschler and Willenburg were both assigned $500 cash bonds.
