A 27-year-old Caledonia man was charged with disorderly conduct, repeater, use of a dangerous weapon, knowingly violating a restraining order and felony bail jumping by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday.
If convicted of all charges, the man faces up to eight years in prison and fines up to $21,000.
According to the complaint, the man was charged with a felony disorderly conduct-domestic abuse case and ordered not to engage in any further criminal activity.
The man’s mother called the police at 12:15 a.m. Monday morning to her residence in the 8700 block of Maple Drive after he went after her boyfriend with a butcher knife.
The woman told officer with the Caledonia Police Department that she allowed her son to stay with her despite having a domestic abuse injunction against him, but she didn’t want him having friends over.
When the woman’s boyfriend came home, he found the man with a friend eating in the kitchen.
The woman told her son and his friend to leave, but they refused. Her son then grabbed a butcher knife and tried to push her out of the way to attack her boyfriend who was down the hallway.
The woman yelled to her boyfriend that her son had a knife. The woman’s boyfriend called 911, and then jumped out of a window and fled to the neighbor’s house. The woman’s son went after the man, but he and his friend then left the home.
The woman had a valid domestic abuse injunction against her son.
