Hawk started his own charity called Hawk’s Locks for Kids, which partners with a charity called Wigs for Kids.

After growing their hair out for over two years, Josh and Prietzel had their hair cut at the Pinewood Derby last week and donated their hair to the charity.¬†Josh said he endured quite a bit of teasing from his peers because “he looked like a girl,” but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that he was determined to help other children that had lost their hair.

“I’m very proud of my son for doing this,” Prietzel said.
