Mount Pleasant police say a 45-year-old Sturtevant man was arrested Thursday for his participation in a bar fight during which he bit a man on the cheek.

William Stritchko had a complaint filed against him Friday in Racine County Circuit Court for a single misdemeanor charge each for battery, repeater and disorderly conduct, repeater. If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail and/or up to $11,000 in fines. Because he is considered a repeat offender, Stritchko could get extra time tacked on to any sentence he might receive.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called at 9:59 p.m. Thursday to the Cham Tap, 2511 Durand Avenue, by a witness who said one customer had bitten another. When police arrived, the suspect – later identified as Stritchko – had left on foot but was located walked east on Durand Avenue.

Officers say Stritchko admitted to being at the Cham Tap with a man who thought Stritchko was having an affair with the man’s wife. The defendant told police he thought the other man was “setting him up,” and officer reports note that both Stritchko and the victim were “heavily intoxicated” and their speech was slurred.

Witnesses say Stritchko entered the bar with another man and that at some point, Stritchko leaned in as if to give the other man a hug and that’s when he bit the man’s face, the complaint reads. The man told police he wanted to press charges, and officers noted they took photos of the man’s face where red marks were visible.

Stritchko was transported to the Racine County Jail without incident. Online court records do not indicate if Stritchko is still being held or if he had an initial appearance Friday.

  1. I’m not sure what “Once again you do not out diwn” means, but, in general, people drinking in many Racine bars are over served.

  2. Once again you do not out diwn how they were not there the whole night, that my bartender is the one who called, or that the guy was kicked out and that I myself as owner was there in the first three min of this happening and also cooperating with the police as usual and giving the the camera footage to what they needed in a matter of five min so let’s not put the positive on there let’s just put the negative
