The Racine County Workforce Development Center with the State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the Journal Times invite job seekers and employers to register for the Spring Career Fair on Thursday, May 15th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Racine Marriott, 7111 Washington Avenue, Racine, Wisconsin.
“This event is specifically designed to match area employers that have current vacancies with area job seekers,” said County Executive Jim Ladwig. “It is a great opportunity for our employers as well as individuals looking for employment.”
Job seekers are expected to attend a one-on-one work readiness session, develop a professional resume and cover letter, and complete other pre-screening activities.
The employer booth registration fee is $300 and includes a presentation on Monster.com by a Journal Times representative prior to the event. Employers interested in attending this pre-screened career fair can register by contacting Rose Heller, Journal Times Advertising and Recruitment Consultant, at (262) 989-2345 or Rose.Heller@lee.net.
Regional job seekers are invited to attend free of charge. However they must complete a simple registration process: visit www.JobCenterofWisconsin.com, and register or update existing information; use the Job Seeker Tools on the site to create or update a resume; complete a self-assessment survey; attend a one-on-one work readiness counseling session with an employment specialist at a local Workforce Development Center.
An employment specialist will review the job seeker’s resume and self-assessment survey, review steps in the job application process, and issue an admission ticket or recommend action to be completed prior to issuing an admission ticket.
Individuals can arrange to be pre-screened at the Racine County Workforce Development Center located at 1717 Taylor Avenue in Racine or the Kenosha County Job Center located at 8600 Sheridan Road, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; or at the Racine County Workforce Development Center’s Burlington location, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.
For more information about the pre-screening process, contact Joanne Allen, Resource Room Team Leader, at (262) 638-6430 or access our website at www.wdc.racineco.com to view a complete list of registered employers and the registration process.
