A 21-year-old man was shot multiple times Friday night but is expected to recover after he was taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital.

Racine police say the man and a companion were approached around 10:20 p.m. Friday while leaving SF Foods in the 1300 block of Lathrop Avenue, and shots were fired. The man was hit as many as three times.

After being transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s, the man was taken by Flight for Life. While his injuries are serious, they are not considered life threatening.

No one is in custody, but the suspect was seen running eastbound from the scene. The only description police have is that the suspect is a black male between 20 and 25 years of age and wearing dark clothing.

The incident remains under investigation and is not believed to be connected with any of the recent bar and convenience store robberies.
