An elderly woman was injured and transported by Flight for Life Thursday after the car she was driving was in an accident with a dump truck.

The accident occurred at 11:09 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 31 and Spring Street, according to a press release from the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

Officers say the woman, 78, of Racine, had visible injuries and was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s. She was later picked up by Flight for Life for treatment at Froedtert Hospital.
