Mount Pleasant police are investigating an overnight shooting that sent one man to the hospital.
Police aren’t releasing many details about the incident except to say that officers responded at 10:15 p.m. Saturday to the 2200 block of Mead Street for a report of shots fired.
When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s with non-life threatening wounds.
MPPD Sgt. Eric Relich confirmed that investigators are following up on several leads. The man’s name is not being released at this time, and MPPD does not have any suspects in custody.
