A benefit for John “JB” Bates, who was diagnosed with stage four Squamous Cell Carcinoma (head/neck cancer), will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Corner Connection, 6961 Six Mile Road
Bates, a commercial metal scrapper, has undergone three surgeries, seven rounds of chemotherapy, and nine weeks of intense radiation therapy, according to Jim Tyyska, a friend of the family.
The money raised will help offset the mounting medical bills JB and his wife Lori are facing. There is no cover charge, but any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
