Driving through Racine County got marginally easier Thursday with the opening of the I-94 northbound exit ramp at Highway 20.
The exit and entrance ramps on the northbound lanes at I-94 at Highway 20 closed in May as part of the $1.9 billion I-94 project to widen the expressway between downtown Milwaukee and the Wisconsin-Illinois state line.
Reconstruction of the Highway 20 interchange is expected to take a total of two years and cost just over $23 million, according to a story in The Journal Times.
The northbound entrance ramp will open in the next couple of weeks. Work on the southbound side will commence next year.
