The Mount Pleasant Village Board will meet Monday to take up a number of items in which residents might find some interest.
One of the first orders of business will be the discussion and possible adoption of ordinance changes that revise the way village board meetings are conducted; specifically Chapter 2 ordinances 41 (Composition; Election; Term of Office), 43 (Meetings), and 46 (Conduct of Deliberations).
Residents who live in the Jamestown subdivision will be happy to know that trustees will discuss and vote on stop signs on Raintree Lane at Heritage Avenue to help improve safety along that roadway.
Now that Rick McCluskey is a member of the Village Board and can no longer serve on the Police & Fire Commission, President Mark Gleason will ask trustees to approve the appointment of Ronald Molnar. Molnar ran for the board in 2013 and is a county supervisor representing most of the northeast side of the village.
Trustees will also go into closed session to discuss a possible agreement with the Village of Caledonia about the latter’s anticipated connection to sewer and water lines in Mount Pleasant. Caledonia many years ago agreed to pay $5 million toward the construction of those lines, in anticipation of development in a recently-approved tax incremental financing district on the southwest side of the village.
