“Her husband works and they don’t need anything from the public,” Larsen wrote in an email. “They request people give them privacy, especially since the baby does have some medical issues for the family to deal with.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Baby number seven for a homeless family living in Cliffside  Park, 7320 Michna Rd., came at 2:44 a.m. Friday morning, according to the Caledonia Police Department.

The 27-year-old mother had the baby girl in the bathroom at the park. When police arrived, she had the baby wrapped up in a shirt, said Lt. Gary Larsen, of the Caledonia Police Department.

The woman was staying at the campground with her 38-year-old husband and six other children.

“They told us that they had come to the park for the weekend before the birth and gave us a Caledonia address, but they didn’t live there,” Larsen said. “They were homeless.”

Police have connected the family with the Racine County Health and Human Services Department.

“Our concern was that the family and the kids have the things they need,” Larsen said.
