A Racine teenager has been charged with battery for a fight that took place after a youth football game at Haban Park. Cameron Mosley, 17, is charged with battery and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors, for the Sept. 13 incident.

At 3:30 p.m. that Saturday, Mount Pleasant officers were sent to Haban Park, 1330 Borgardt Road, for a fight, according to the criminal complaint filed against Mosley. According to witnesses, the mother of a player on one team started yelling at adults associated with children on another team, and a crowd started arguing. During the fight, a 15-year-old boy was punched.

The boy’s father started recording video¬†and taking photographs of vehicles and people in the area, according to court records. While he was recording, he told police, two children got out of the vehicle, knocked his phone out of his hand, and punched him several times. The teens got back in the car, the man said.

The man identified Mosley in a photo lineup as the person who had hit him.

Another adult witness told police she saw a woman boasting about how well her son had played, and that she then got into a fight with another mother. She said there was a lot of yelling and fighting, and that coaches ultimately broke up the altercation.

Mosley spoke to police, according to the complaint, and told them he was trying to get people to move away from his mother’s car so they could leave. He admitted throwing several punches at the man, but said it happened after the man slapped his hand away.

Mosley is being held in jail on $200 cash bond.
