David Simington

A man playing his music too loud in Mount Pleasant was arrested for bail jumping, attempted escape, resisting an officer, disorderly conduct and battery of a peace officer.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Prairie Drive about 10:50 p.m., Sept. 19, for a loud music complaint. The resident of the unit, David Simington, 45, was known to be out on bond, according to court records, and had an absolute sobriety requirement.

When police spoke to Simington, they could smell alcohol, and gave him a breath test that showed an alcohol concentration of 0.14. After he was taken into custody, officers reported Simington removed his seatbelt and was trying to open the squad door. He said he wanted to harm the neighbors he suspected of calling in the music complaint.

As he was being moved within the jail, according to the criminal complaint, Simington slammed his head into a deputy’s face, and continued violently resisting their attempts to get him into a cell.
