Racine Police arrested a man Wednesday who had a warrant from a 2015 armed robbery case.

After failing to make a court appearance in September 2015, a warrant was issued for Ricky Crutcher’s arrest.

Crutcher, 28, of Racine, was arrested when police believed him to be an armed robbery suspect and later arrested him for possession of narcotics, according to a criminal complaint by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

Ricky Crutcher, 28, was spotted by an officer walking down the 2000 block of Memorial Drive. The officer said he matched the description of the suspect who allegedly committed an armed robbery within the 2000 block of Douglas Avenue.

The officer shined his spotlight on Crutcher as he pulled pill bottles from his pocket and dropped them. When the officer told him to stop, he didn’t. Thinking Crutcher was armed, the officer pulled his gun and told him to stop. Crutcher took off running.

Police found Crutcher hiding in a backyard within the 2000 block of Blake Avenue. He’s charged with possession of narcotics and obstructing an officer.
