Sedale Lockridge

Mount Pleasant police say a 28-year-old Racine man is facing drug charges after they found marijuana in his car Thursday.

Sedale Lockridge was charged Thursday in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count of drug possession with the intent to deliver. If convicted he faces up to 3-1/2 years in jail and/or up to $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the 5900 block of Joann Drive for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When police arrived, they made contact with the driver – later identified as Lockridge – and detected the odor of marijuana. After Lockridge and the occupants of the car were secured, police searched the car.

Police say they found a larger baggie of marijuana in the center console and several smaller plastic bags of marijuana along with a digital scale. Officers also searched Lockridge and found $140 cash in one of his pants pockets.

During questioning at the Mount Pleasant police station Lockridge said he bought the pot from “some Hispanic guy” at a Racine gas station, and he was selling drugs to support his family.

Lockridge remains in the Racine County Jail on a $2,500 bond. He will appear Jan. 21 for his preliminary hearing.
