15-704 Anthony Lang (Exposure)

Mount Pleasant police say a 26-year-old Racine man exposed himself at Barnes & Noble and is now facing charges.

Anthony Lang had charges filed against him Friday in Racine County Court but did not have an initial appearance, according to online court records. He is facing one misdemeanor count each of lewd and lascivious behavior-exposure and disorderly conduct, which carry a maximum sentence of up to a year in prison and/or up to $11,000.

According to the criminal complaint, an employee on Jan. 9 at Barnes & Noble, 2710 S. Green Bay Road, saw Lang in the Sex/Love/Self-Help section of the store with his pants unzipped, exposing himself. The employee said the defendant quickly pulled down his sweatshirt to cover himself and then left the store in a tan SUV.

Police say employees know Lang because he was a frequent visitor to the store, going to the Sex/Love/Self-Help section and then going through the children’s book department.Officers advised store personnel to call police if Lang┬ávisited the store again.

A store manager called police on Feb. 12 to report that Lang was present in the store, the complaint reads. The manager told police they wanted to file an unwanted person report against Lang. Officers located Lang in the children’s section, and he was advised that he was no longer welcome at Barnes & Noble.

Officers say witnesses identified a picture of Lang in a photo lineup, and he was taken into custody without incident at his home.

Online inmate records do not indicate that Lang is still in custody, and his initial appearance has not yet been scheduled.
