Shots were fired in Racine Thursday night after a group of people were heard arguing, and Mount Pleasant Police may have a person in custody, according to preliminary reports.

Mount Pleasant Police confirmed that officers were called at 8:45 p.m. to the 2200 block of Mead Street for reports of shots fired.

Three males and a female were seen leaving the area in a silver car, and another witness reported seeing a handful of men leave in a green vehicle. One person described as a black male wearing a dark hat, grey zip-up hooded jacket, and blue and white pants was seen running toward the Mead Street COP house after firing shots in the general direction of Wells Brothers.

Just before the incident witnesses reported seeing the group arguing. Investigators learned that about four to five shots were fired. Two bullets struck two different buildings. No one was injured.

Mount Pleasant Police are still investigating the incident.
