The annual Scouting for Food Drive, where Boy Scouts collect food for area food pantries, will be held Saturday, March 14 and Saturday, March 21.
Boys from all over eastern Racine County and the state will be placing a plastic bag on doors on March 14. People who can are asked to put canned or dry goods in the bag and place it on their porch on March 21. The Boy Scouts will come around and pick up the food and donate it to a local shelter.
Cub Scout Pack 241, which is out of Caledonia, will be out between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon both Saturdays. Even if you can’t donate, please be aware of kids out and about in neighborhoods. If someone doesn’t receive a bag on their door and wishes to donate, they can email our district executive Steven Idzikowski at Steven.Idzikowski@Scouting.org and he’ll find out where their nearest Boy Scout unit meets and get you in contact.
