6012WashingtonRendering-300x150A gas station and car wash at 6012 Washington Avenue were demolished last week to make way for a new strip mall on the new site.

Developer Lee Jaramillo plans to build a 7,000 square-foot building, which will be anchored by Firehouse Subs located at 5012 Washington Ave. Northterra Real Estate Group LLC,  Jaramillo’s development company, received approval from the Mount Pleasant plan commission to begin site planning for a strip mall in November.

Jaramillo, of Caledonia, will own the building. The building project is expected to be completed in August 2015.
