Under the bill, the Department of Transportation could raise the speed limit from 65 mph to 70 mph, but the Senate rejected a similar law proposed in 2013.
Many of the neighboring states have maximum speed limits of 70 mph as Wisconsin remains the only state between Pennsylvania and Washington that doesn’t have a 70 mph maximum speed limit, according to the story.
