What made you want to seek this office?

Wright: I enjoy serving my community and working to help it improve and grow.

Larsen: Sturtevant is a growing and vibrant community that is trying to maintain its small village feel while successfully competing in the 21st century. My goal is to make sure that happens. We need to ensure that Sturtevant will remain a destination for business and job growth while preserving the neighborhood feel one gets walking in our Village.

Johnson: To strive to improve the way of live for Village residents.

Duchow: I think a fresh perspective is needed on the board.

Tell us about your civic involvement and any volunteering that you’ve done.

Wright: Sturtevant Board of Health, Central Racine Co. Board of Health, Greater Union Grove Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, SYBA T-ball coach, Racine Wastewater Commission, Active in my church, various community events.

Larsen: I volunteer for Fluffy Dog Rescue.

Johnson: 10 years Sturtevant Volunteer Fire Dept., coached youth baseball in early 90’s.

Duchow: Since moving to this community three years ago, I have been a Volunteer with Sexual Assault Services of Racine; a member of the Disaster Services Team for the southeast branch of the American Red Cross; and the Volunteer Center of Racine. I was also a licensed foster parent til mid October.

What makes you qualified for the office you are seeking?

Wright: With eight years of experience on the board I have a good understanding of municipal government. Also, I along with my fellow board members have made great strides in attracting new commercial and industrial development as well as expansions of existing businesses.

Larsen: The last six years, I am proud to have been a part of the return of financial solvency of the Village and to have taken part in bringing United Natural Foods and other jobs here as chairman of the Community Development Authority. We are paying off the most successful TID district in the State years early. While I have been on the Board we have done more with less, kept taxes low and continued to grow our businesses and residential communities. I feel my experience is an asset.

Johnson: I have been involved with village government off and on for the past 20 years. I feel I use a common sense approach to solving problems and making suggestions on how to improve the way of life for Village residents.

Duchow: I am smart, honest, ethical, hard working, responsible, passionate, dedicated, and very energetic.
