Kraut Music Fest will return this summer, and organizers have been working hard on putting together the four-day music festival, which will be held June 18 through June 21 at the Mount Pleasant-Caledonia Park, 9614 County Road K, in Franksville.

They’ve got most of the 30 bands booked. Heavy metal band Skid Row, American Chicano rock band Los Lonely Boys, and country band Gloriana will be headlining at the event.

Ray Stibeck, owner of Route 20 Outhouse, said the festival won’t just be about sauerkraut, but will emphasize a variety of music — from reggae to country to rock music.

Kraut Fest is expected to generate more revenue for the park and help bring larger events to the park grounds. The event will feature two music stages, a carnival midway, food tents that will feature sauerkraut, antique tractor show, local vendors, fireworks, a kraut queen contest, and kraut eating contest.

Steve Hawkins, entertainment manager for Route 20 Outhouse, said putting together the Kraut Music Fest marries two events that the area has lost over the years.

“We thought it would be really cool to take the Kraut Fest concept and the HarborFest concept… and get all of these people that we had involved in these things, mash ‘em together and throw it out there and see what we can do,” he said. “We know everyone is going to go to Summerfest, but why don’t we give people a reason for people that live up there a reason to come down here? And give people a reason who live here to not go up there if they don’t want to?”

There will be two stages: the main stage, a separate entity within the festival, and the Jagermeister stage, which is part of the overall festival. So if you buy a general admission ticket, you’ll get access to the Jagermeister stage. But to see the main stage acts, you’ll need to buy an upgraded ticket. There are some early bird deals if you buy tickets before April 18.

Thursday night: $8 to get into the festival, $13 for entrance into the festival and main stage event

Friday and Saturday: $8 to get into the Festival ticket, $18 for entrance into the festival and main stage event.

Sunday: $8 to get into festival. There is no main stage act on Sunday. Free admission for dad’s.
