The recount to decide who will take a seat on the Sturtevant Village Board begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Sturtevant trustee candidates Michelle Duckow and John Johnson (i) are separated by only vote, this time with Johnson in the lead – 368 to 367 – which is a reversal of election night. After the polls closed last week, Duchow was in the lead, 367 to 366.
Two absentee ballots opened Friday tipped the scales in Johnson’s favor.
The recount will take place in the County Board Office at the Racine County Courthouse, 730 Wisconsin Avenue, and all trustee candidates were notified.
Trustees Chris Larsen and Chris Wright held onto their seats each with enough of a vote cushion they did not need a recount.
