When we posted the question about what users wanted to be when they grew up we knew we’d get some good responses because Racine County Eye readers are the best.

You all did not disappoint. While some of you are doing what you love – even if you took a circuitous route – others are doing something completely different and are really happy with those choices.

Here’s what some of you had to say:

Jennifer Lynn: In 4th grade I wanted to be a nurse. Then I was lost for many years and I found my father dead and I knew, a nurse it is! After achieving my ADN in nursing now I have achieved my BSN, next stop MSN. I did all of this and I was a teen mom so goes to show anyone can do anything when they put their mind to it!

Bethany DeMark Zimpel: Life didn’t turn out according to my “plan”. I wanted to be a Veterinarian but enjoy volunteering at our Wisconsin Humane Society.

Scott J Sebastian: Vet, Firefighter, Restaurateur. Two out of three ain’t bad.

Lori Wilm Howard: Changes every decade and I roll with it. Most people only get one dream job, I have had several.

Sarah Weber: I wanted to be a teacher since I could remember. I am a teacher.

Missy Michele: When I was little I wanted to be a chef (funny now becasue my husband cooks most days) but I became an architectural drafter then was laid off and became an Occupational Therapist Assistant! The most awesome decision I ever made!

Holly Anderson Anderle: Yes and no and yes! I wanted to be an Army officer and an Army chaplain. That didn’t work out, but I spent 9 years as an Army personnel officer and then got out, e=went to seminary, and became a hospital chaplain and then the pastor of an awesome church! So while things didn’t work out exactly as I planned, I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Jamie Meier Mattek: Wanted to be a librarian or a teacher. I am an admin for a huge corporation and I get my teaching fix from running my Girl Scout troop!

Chrissee Horner: HAPPY

Naida Smith-Keech: I’m not done growing yet. I’ll always dream for what’s next.
