Racine Police DepartmentRacine Police and Mount Pleasant police had to break up several fights involving 150 to 200 people attending a carnival in the parking lot at Regency Mall, 5538 Durand Ave., Saturday, May 2, according to an official with the Racine Police Department.

The incident caused the carnival to shut down at about 8:30 p.m., but another fight broke out at Chuck E. Cheese sometime after the fight, according to reports by Racine County Scanner.

Lt. Al Days, public information and media relations officer for the Racine Police Department, said one person was arrested.

A number of people on the Racine County Scanner page called for the carnival to be shut down because of the fights that have happened over the years. Several employees that work for the carnival mentioned on the page they hire security for the event.

We reached out to Rainbow Valley Rides, which operates the carnival. When we receive a return phone call, we’ll update the story.
