A Kenosha girl was arrested for battery and using her mother’s stun gun on boy, who was at the carnival held in the parking lot at Regency Mall, 5538 Durand Ave., at 7:53 p.m. Saturday, May 2.
Racine Police and Mount Pleasant police had to break up several fights involving 150 to 200 people attending the carnival, according to an official with the Racine Police Department.
Racine Police are not identifying the name of the girl because she is a juvenile.
According to the police report, a large crowd gathered and several smaller fights had broken out.
A security officer hired by the Rainbow Valley Rides, which put on the carnival, recovered the stun gun from the girl. The girl told police she didn’t use the stun gun on the boy, but could not tell police how people knew she was the person who used the stun gun on the boy.
The girl’s mother, who didn’t have a permit to carry a stun gun, told police she didn’t see her daughter use the stun gun on the boy.
While conducting police interviews, a couple hundred youth started fighting and Mount Pleasant Police had to intervene. However, the girl and her mother were allowed to leave the scene because of all of the fighting happening.
After the fight at the carnival, another fight happened at Chuck E. Cheese, 5612 Durand Ave. just after the carnival was shut down and then again on Sunday, May 3 that led employees to shut the restaurant down.
Lt. Al Days, of the Racine Police Department, said he was unsure if the incidents that happened on Saturday night were related, but he did know that the fights on Saturday and Sunday night were not related.
Officials with Regency Mall told reporters with the Journal Times that the fights were isolated events.
