The Racine Fourth Fest Parade committee is still taking applications for the parade, but they’ll need to be postmarked by May 26 and no applications will be accepted after June 1.
This year the theme for the parade is “Welcome Home!”
“Whether it is welcoming home family who have moved away or our men and women who have served overseas, Racine’s Fourth Fest Parade is one of the largest homecoming celebrations in the country,” according to a press release by the parade committee. “Families, schools, groups and businesses are encouraged to cleverly embrace the “Welcome Home!” theme as they plan their parade entry.”
The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 4 and travels about 2 1/2 miles down Main Street. The parade takes about two hours to complete.
Parade applications are available online or at the following locations:
- Hugs N Kisses, 3215 Douglas Avenue
- Sew N Save, 3701 Durand Avenue
- Volunteer Center-Racine, 6216 Washington Avenue
