The fluffy Peregrine falcon babies currently living safely on a ledge of the Racine County Courthouse will get banded Thursday.

Greg Septon from the Peregrine Falcon Recovery Program will apply the bands so the program can keep track of them after they grow big enough to leave their mother.

County officials announced in April that the mother bird had laid four eggs and that the babies would arrive by Mother’s Day. The parents are the same pair who have called the courthouse home for the last several years.

The banding is scheduled between 3 and 4 p.m. Thursday at the Racine County Courthouse, 730 Wisconsin Street. Visitors are welcome and should enter through the east doors to go through security before heading to the 10th floor.
