Police lightsOfficers with the Racine County Metro Drug Unit say they seized 1.59 pounds of marijuana Wednesday worth approximately $8,400 on the street.

Police executed a search warrant at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 2800 block of Spring Street and recovered a number of items:

  • 724.4 grams (1.59 pounds) of marijuana
  • Hash/butter
  • Packaging materials
  • Other drug paraphernalia
  • A digital scale

An officer with the unit confirmed for Racine County Eye that the drugs have an estimated street value of $350 per ounce.

“It is high grade, so (it would sell for) about $350 per ounce,” they said via email.

A 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were arrested and taken to the Racine County Jail on pending charges of marijuana possession with the intent to deliver; keeper of a drug trafficking place; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
