MPPD COP Bike Parade 9Children hoping to show off their Independence Day style can “decorate themselves or build their own float,” in the playground parades, which will be held at a number of parks in Racine at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2.

The Racine Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is inviting children from the city of Racine to take part in the playground parades. You can pick up crĂªpe paper decorations from leaders at participating neighborhood drop-in playground sites during the week before the parade.

Parades will be held at the following sites:

Bryant Community Center
Fratt School
Humble Park Community Center
Greencrest Park
King Community Center
Hantschel Park
Tyler-Domer Community Center
Heck Park
Matson Park
Marquette Park
Solbraa Park

Children who participate in the drop-in playground programs and the All-Sport Academy, Future, Play it Again, and Bigs Playground programs will be participating in the parades. For more information, parents of the children in those programs should ask the playground leaders for more information and park assignments.

Children participating in the Kiddie Korner playground program will participate in parades at their regular playground site and session on Thursday, July 2.
