Mount Pleasant police say a 22-year-old man is facing felony sexual assault charges after he forced a young woman to have sex with him at a friend’s house.

Bryan Hagoriles, of Mount Pleasant, was charged Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court with one count of Bryan Hagoriles2nd degree felony sex assault. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison and/or up to $100,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched Sunday to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s for a report of a sexual assault. When officers arrived, they spoke to the victim who said she’d been with a friend at home listening to music in the basement. The defendant and another person were also present, and all were drinking. The woman said the layout of the basement included a projection TV, a coffee table and a mattress on the floor facing the TV.

Police say when the woman’s friends went upstairs, she was alone with Hagoriles. He pulled her down and back onto the mattress and began kissing her. The victim said she said, “No,” several times and struggled to get away from Hagoriles, but he was too strong. He pulled her clothing down and raped her, only stopping when dogs started barking upstairs.

The woman went upstairs and told her friend what happened, but the friend did not believe her, the complaint reads. At some point, both the woman and Hagoriles were transported to the hospital for sexual assault evidence collection.

Officers say Hagoriles admitted to having sexual contact with the victim who maintains she did not give consent, and she was forced.

Hagoriles remains in the Racine County Jail on $1,000 cash bond, and he is ordered to not have any contact with the victim as well as restricted to house arrest with monitoring except to go to court, meet with his attorney or to go to work. Hagoriles will next be in court July 29 for his preliminary hearing.
