Three convicted sex offenders will be released from prison and placed in homes in Racine.

Law enforcement officials believe the criminal history the men have puts them in a class where they could re-offend, according to a press release by the Racine Police Department.The public is invited to a sex offender notification meeting set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 27 at the Richard V. Polzin COP House, 1900 16th St.

The following men will be released from prison and placed at the following homes:

  • James W. Doxtater, 44, was convicted in 2004 of first degree sexual assault of a child. He will be released on or before August 11 and will live at 4800 Durand Avenue. He is required to wear a global positioning bracelet.Gary S. Sutton, 40, was convicted in 2008 of exposing a child to harmful materials.     Jose S. Trevino, 61, was convicted in 2011 for a sex offender registry biolation. He is expected to be released on or before Aug. 2 and reside at 1430 Washington Avenue.

All three men are required to wear a global positioning bracelet and register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program.

Officials with the Racine Police Department and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections will give  information to attendees, but it is not meant to be a forum for public comment. Officers warn that adult subject will be discussed and they are asking that only adults attend the meeting.

The men have already served out their sentences and they are not wanted by the police. The police notification is meant to keep the public informed.
