
The training is a partnership of the Racine County Workforce Development Center and Gateway Technical College. Designed to meet the needs of employers within the region, the CNC operator boot camp is an intensive 14-week training program and is designed to give participants the necessary skills to qualify for an entry level CNC operator position. The average entry level wage is $12 per hour.
The program meets the needs of many employers within the region and will give students with the skills necessary for an entry level CNC operator position. The coursework offered includes CNC operation, applied math, blueprint reading, gauging, safety, Lean Six Sigma and effective speaking. The placement for graduates is 95 percent.
Classes are taught from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Gateway Technical College’s SC Johnson iMET Center, 2320 Renaissance Blvd in Sturtevant.
The last day to pick up applications is July 29 at the Racine County Workforce Development Center, 1717 Taylor Ave, in the resource room as well as the Racine County Workforce Development Center’s Burlington, 496 McCanna Parkway, Room 119. The applications must be turned in by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 to the Racine County Workforce Development Resource Room, 1717 Taylor Ave.
