Racine County Sheriff’s deputies say a 41-year-old Illinois man is behind bars with a $75,000 cash bond after he tried to arrange sex with deputies posing as a mother and her two underage girls.
Ross Adee, of Malta, IL, was charged Monday in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count each of 
conspiracy to commit 1st degree sexual assault of a child under age 13 and conspiracy to commit 1st degree sexual assault of a child under age 16. If convicted, he faces the rest of his life in prison and/or up to $100,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, investigators on duty with the Internet Crimes Against Child unit on July 29 browsed ads on Craigslist and found one for “Wisco Taboo Kik Group” referencing incest. A deputy answered the ad posing as a mother with two daughters; age eight and 13.
Investigators say they set up a Kwik account in order to talk to Adee, and they had numerous conversations with him on the site before moving to text messages. The deputy and Adee talked about arranging a meeting and what Adee would be allowed to do with “the girls” and that the “mother” would not participate because she wasn’t interested.
A meeting Saturday was arranged, but Adee – who is a truck driver – texted the deputy and said he was in town Friday, the complaint reads. They agreed to meet at the Culver’s off of Highway 20 just west of I-94.
When Adee arrived at the restaurant, he was read his rights and taken into custody. Deputies say Adee agreed to speak without a lawyer and told them he did post the ad and he was in conversation with a woman about her daughters, but he was interested in the mother despite “her” stating she wasn’t interested. Adee then said having sex with the daughters was the “mother’s” idea, not his.
The cell phone Adee was using to communicate the investigators was not located either on his person or in his truck, the complaint reads. He said he tossed under another truck before going to the meeting at Culver’s, but deputies did not locate it.
Adee was assigned a $75,000 cash bond and ordered to not have any contact with any minors or have access to a computer. He is required to provide a DNA sample and will next be in court August 19 for his preliminary hearing.
